Assam government approves Ambuja Neotia's Rs 700 crore Guwahati healthcare-hospitality project
Assam Government Approves Rs 700 Crore Ambuja Neotia Healthcare and Hospitality Project
Ambuja Neotia Group will develop an integrated healthcare and hospitality project in Guwahati following approval of its investment proposal by the state government. The project, cleared by the Assam government, will come up on a 2.88-acre mixed-use land parcel at Fancy Bazar on Old Jail Road and will combine a 300-bed multi-speciality hospital with a premium 4+ star hotel.
Project Scale and Investment
The total investment for this dual-purpose facility will exceed Rs 700 crore. Of this, the group will allocate nearly Rs 400 crore specifically for a 300-bed multi-specialty hospital. Furthermore, the medical facility will occupy 1.46 acres of the total 2.88-acre land parcel. However, the hospitality component will reside on the remaining 1.42 acres.
The remaining 1.42 acres will accommodate a premium 4+ star hotel, developed by Ambuja Neotia Hotel Venture Limited at an estimated investment of around Rs 350 crore. The hotel will offer rooms, banqueting and meeting facilities, and multiple dining options.
Healthcare Facility
The facility is expected to offer advanced multi-speciality services across cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, oncology and critical care, positioning it as a referral centre for complex cases from across the Northeast.
Employment and Economic Impact
The hospital alone is projected to generate 1,500–2,000 direct jobs, in addition to indirect employment through allied services and local businesses. Guwahati holds immense strategic importance as the gateway to the Northeast, and the integrated development is believed to contribute meaningfully to the region's healthcare infrastructure and urban economy.
Ambuja Neotia's Healthcare Presence in Assam
This will be Ambuja Neotia Group's second healthcare initiative in Assam, following the launch of the Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Childcare Centre in Guwahati in 2025.
